lovely goodies in the post!

i wasn't expecting anything to arrive for me in the post yesterday,
so imagine my glee to be brought two parcels !


the first i opened was from Kerry from Pennydog.com
i have been supplying Kerry with tags for her jewellery
and building up a credit!
Look at these fabulous 3-holed buttons - love 'em
and some vintage buckles

but best of all a gorgeous resin bangle
with buttons and pattern paper encased
it's great but now stuck on my wrist!

it's so hard to photograph too being clear
and my photo's don't do it justice
so you'd best go and buy one!!!

i finished my first ever ATC swap last week and sent it off to my partner in America so i can't show it yet - not only was it my first ATC {artist trading card} but it was also embroidered - i found out about it through PennyNickels http://donkeywolf.blogspot.com/ who organised the swap on flickr http://www.flickr.com/groups/phatquarter/ ***WARNING*** this group is not to everyones tastes as it has some explicit stitching and expletives included in the very very talented embroideries - i LOVED textiles at school and always enjoyed embroidery so although my embroidery skills were rather rusty i soon got back into the swing of it and really enjoyed making my ATC.

WOW

it's hard to believe that this is my one hundredth post !!
I have noticed in blogland that people celebrate their blog-a-versaries with a giveaway i wasn't organised for mine so i will celebrate my hundredth post instead!

The other day i could handle the mess on my desk no longer,
after there was an unfortunate avalanche when a big tin of pencils made a break for freedom, resulting in a huge crash that woke my daughter and knocked over the piles "stuff" on the floor too!
So i cleared my desk so that i could see the whole of my A2 cutting mat before i got bored and started just pushing the stuff to the edges!
BUT in the clearing process i filled a thrifted jar to overflowing with all sorts of buttons - vintage ones and mother-of-pearl ones, fabric, leather, wood, glass, modern, floral, plastic, metal, animals, plain, fancy, small, medium and large ones!

i made a few of these style cards
they were very time consuming {but lot's of fun} as i watercoloured the paper
before cutting it all out with paper punches
and then assembled all the flowers,fairies and butterflies!

this is the second card i made in this design as
the person i made the first card for liked it so much
she wanted one for her best friend!

i got a blog award - from Izabela over @ bluefishhandmade i can never really work out what i'm meant to do with blog awards and memes etc but all i have to do is pass on my award to eight bloggy friends so here goes - i have never physically met or talked to any of these lovely ladies but i feel they make a huge impact on my days and make my self-employed worklife much more fun - they are my water-cooler mates - they are there when i want a giggle or a moan or crafty/pricing advice OR more often than not to distract me from work ha ha ha :0)
