***hApPy m0TheR's DaY***

hope all you mothers have a lovely day tomorrow!!!
i'm praying for Thornton's chocolate truffles & handmade mother's day cards

*******
here is the card i made for my Mum
i cut an illustration out of a thrifted copy of
"Alice in Wonderland"
then watercolour tinted selected parts
glued it onto some mountboard and then decoupaged
a layer of vintage dressmaking pattern paper on top

wrapping around the edges as i went
next i cut out happy mother's day from old books and lightly inked them
then added them to the decoupaged piece and 3D glazed them.

once it was all dry i used a pattern marker to make the holes for my stitches
then went over them all with a needle and sewed a border.

then i cut a card blank and attached the piece with large foam pads.

it makes me happy to spend a few hours making my lovely Mum a card for Mother's day.

*******

now is it mothers day or mother's day or mothers' day???
no doubt my Mum will have the answer!

some fairytale cards

little red riding hood is my favourite fairytale, i much prefer my stories to be dArK and sCaRy and contain wolves and witches rather than fairy godmothers and handsome princes!

i think this set of cards reflects that!

this card is available in my new folksy shop

http://www.folksy.com/shops/maximumRABBITdesigns

where i am also selling vintage buttons and haberdashery supplies.

there is a lot of texture on this card that is not really showing in the photos

this is my first attempt at decoupage - it's a bit of a faff but i was pleased with the effect.

disclaimer * these are NOT for the fairytale swap !!!! *

vintage swap

"the company car" !! groovy man!!!!

at last i've taken photo's of the lovely bag that dizzyday made me - i really love it , it's the perfect size to fit on my pushchair and holds loads of stuff , which is vital for my work!!!

I've had lots of compliments on it from jealous people - ha ha ha , it's mine all mine!!

cute little cabinet

i have been going "thrifting/eBay/bootsale" crazy lately and found this lovely little cabinet for one whole pound !! I have no idea what i'm going to do with it but i'm thinking decoupage with a vintage feel, at the moment it's holding my ever growing collection of vintage letter press.
