"the company car" !! groovy man!!!!

at last i've taken photo's of the lovely bag that dizzyday made me - i really love it , it's the perfect size to fit on my pushchair and holds loads of stuff , which is vital for my work!!!

I've had lots of compliments on it from jealous people - ha ha ha , it's mine all mine!!

cute little cabinet


i have been going "thrifting/eBay/bootsale" crazy lately and found this lovely little cabinet for one whole pound !! I have no idea what i'm going to do with it but i'm thinking decoupage with a vintage feel, at the moment it's holding my ever growing collection of vintage letter press.

new stuff!

i bought these really cool boxes last week and liked them so much i had to buy more today!


i've been pretty busy on the button front too and have orders waiting to be posted out and have been busy making up sample cards of my new batch of gorgeous coloured vintage mother of pearl buttons - they are sooooo pretty!

i also recieved my vintage swap from dizzyday at mumsnet.crafters and it is soooo cool and "groovy" man! It is a really funky bag made from the pattern of a supermarket plastic carrier bag - it fits perfectly on the handles of the pushchair and is plenty big enough for nappies-wipes-snacks-drinks etc etc so it's really handy for work and play - thanks dizzy!!

also i won a blog-giveaway from vintagefern.blogspot.com which arrived today all the way from america it was a dishtowel but i think it's too cute to use! Have a look at her etsy shop , there is some lovely things there , i especially love the pillowcase dresses - sweet. Thanks Amy x oh she also "tagged" me too i will get round to responding soon - honest!

mumsnet crafters vintage swap

i finished my vintage swap for dizzyday @ mumsnet crafters - i really enjoyed making this one , as i got to play with my buttons and vintage postcards - yeah!!!

oh dear i've been useless lately!!!!!

oh my god !!!

i'm in lurve with this reverse carved lucite button.

i've been spending way to much time on the internet and not enough time actually crafting so i don't have anything much to post about!! i have however been buying up buttons like there's no tomorrow and will try and take some photo's later . . . . . . . but right now i must get dressed [it's 1.30pm !!] i had a lie-in till 11am as kids were at grandma's - lovely.

felting

so here is my first attempt at felting just to make things more complicated i thought i'd dye the blanket too!

for some reason i can't get pictures in right order . . . .gggrrrr

anyway i bought an 100% wool blanket from oxfam , then i dyed it @ 60c then again @ 90c to rinse excess dye [and clean machine] .The result is a little patchy but i'm guessing that this is down to:

a/ not enough dye

b/ to big to agitate properly

c/ the dye is not for use on wool!!!

so after all this i did a test cut and felt[ha ha] it needed more abuse as it frayed a little - so i whacked back in the washer @ 90c again.

i think it is now done!!! so what shall i make?

oh yes and i emailed Betz White for advice on dying woolen items for felting and was very pleased [starstruck] to get a reply on the same day :0) [thanks]

and here is the side effect of all this faffing about - there is a mass of candyfloss pink fluff everywhere!!!

i really enjoyed doing this and i'm all for recycling but i used loads of energy and water doing this.

easter swap

gerry got her easter swap so now i can blog it !
i'm really pleased with it and happily so was she !
it took me ages to get myself motivated but i will definately be signing up for more swaps as it was great to have a deadline and a vague theme to aim for.

apparently i've used this photo in a card before - oh dear. I must let people take my photo more often! Unfortunately i ALWAYS look horrendus and GRUMPY.
