i am a neat freak
so when i did the embroidery for the Alice swap i just couldn't bear to leave the messy stitching exposed,
also i had cut the fabric too small to lace it onto the hoop, i searched for a tutorial to finish off your work in a hoop but couldn't find one, i asked at the PhatQuarter group and got some good ideas there
but
this is what i came up with
draw around the inside of the inner hoop on mounting board
i drew around a hoop 1" bigger than the hoop i'm doing the embroidery on so the hoop i'm working my piece on is a 4" and the fabric disc is 5"
{edited from 2" to 1"}
take your disc of fabric covered card
and push into the back of the hoop firmly
{i didn't use any glue}

Wowza! Great tutorial.
Nice to know that you're a neat crafter. (I sure am not!)
Great tutorial, love that little embroidery work. Beautiful
it looks lovely... I have a little embroidered Mad Hatter my friend gave me and was wondering how I would frame it...
Awesome! Great tutorial and very much needed. Only thing left is to actually finish something ;)
Thank you - I was so irritated by how not neat the embroidery hoop framed gift I made for my nephew turned out - I tried hiding the mess with ribbon and think I made it worse...

Great tutorial! I've been doing something similar to finish my embroidery, but not as clean as your method. I also like the use of padding!
My only problem is finding wooden or bamboo embroidery hoops to frame my pieces in. Do you have any suggestions? Online shops that ship to Canada?
Thank you Thank you! I prefer things to be finished off neat or I won't like them when they are done! Thanks again! Annette T
